Universal Credit is one of the biggest changes to the welfare system since its inception. It brings together six existing benefits and is a hugely ambitious programme, seeking to simplify the existing complicated benefit system and incentivise people more to start and progress in work.
While Universal Credit is working for the majority, there is a significant minority of people having problems - many of whom are in vulnerable situations and in most in need of support.
This is a new role which is being created to support claimants through every step of making a Universal Credit claim. You will offer claimants comprehensive and practical support needed to get their first payment on time and be ready to manage it when it arrives. You will receive full training in the skills needed to help people deal with their claims and this role offers the opportunity to develop your skills and experience for the work place.
